Celeron 420 with VIAPM900 for Fedora 6

I found that my new system celeron 420 insalled with fedora 6 i386 is even much slower in both booting time and performance in httpd with ssl with my old server celeron 350 with sis chipest.

Should i install the fedora 6 with x86 verysion instead of i386?
or celeron 420 i not supported with fedora 6
or the problems with my VIA PM900 chipset

thanks !!
