i have a Plextor DVD+/-RW PX-712A installed on a Red Hat Linux release 7.1 (Seawolf). Kernel version is 2.4.2-2. i have scsi emulation running. to do so, i added the following line to /etc/lilo.conf:
Code:
append="hda=ide-scsi"
i am using the following tool set to write to the my media:
http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/linux/DVD+RW/tools/?M=D
when i format a disc, i recieve the following error:
Code:
Dec 10 15:01:26 server kernel: sr0: CDROM (ioctl) reports ILLEGAL REQUEST.
after "writing" to the disc, i recieve this error when mounting:
Code:
Dec 10 15:16:57 server kernel: Warning: defective CD-ROM. Enabling
"cruft" mount option.
finally, when i "write" to the disc, it looks like it is burning 1.8 Gigabytes worth of data, but when it is finished; i mount it and there is only about 8 Megabytes of the 1.8 GB of data on the disc.
can someone help.... please???
thanks in advance!
