CD-RW won't do multi sessions

My CD-RW drive won't burn second sessions. Otherwise it seems to work fine. I'm using GnomeToaster as a front end. When I try to import a session I get an "Unkown Error" window and the program exits. If I drag and drop and allow GnomeToaster to handle the import (or not, I can't tell just what its doing here) the program runs, says it has finished but no changes have occurred to the disk. I have noticed that opening GnomeToaster causes the line "Modprobe can't locate module char-major-97" in the system log

Thanks
Alan
