CD-RW problems with audio files...

Hey all

I'm having some buffer problems when burning audio cds. Here are my specs
SUSE 8
athlon 1.2
Lite-on 16102b cd-rw
lotsa RAM and swap
And there are no other problems to speak of--
When I burn audio cds, whether using cdrecord on the CLI, gcombust, or KonCD I have buffer problems, cpu usage goes up, burn-proof is used alot (computer slows way down as buffer is refilled), and it takes about 10 minutes to burn a cd that should take 4.5 minutes.
When burning data cd's or iso's I have no problems at all.
I have set the cd-rw to multiword dma mode 2 (which it is capable of)with:
hdparm -d 1 -X 34 /dev/hdd
this seemed to fix any problems I had burning data cds but the audio is still giving me problems.
Any ideas?

thanks
Eric

I am having audio burning problems, too. However none of my other cd devices can read my audio cd's correctly! Maybe it's related somehow... I wish someone would answer these posts!!! You're not alone!
