CD/DVD in Red Hat 9
A week ago, I made the mistake of installing NVIDIA software without a NVIDIA card. I had upgraded Red Hat 8.0 to Red Hat 9. The gui would not work in runlevel 5. Finally I reinstalled Red Hat 9. My system is a dual boot with Windows XP. The CD/DVD player programs produced sound and video satisfactorily in the previous installation. Internet sounds worked, etc.
Since the new installation of Red Hat 9, internet sounds are present. The sound card is recognized and plays the test sounds correctly. I have not been able to get the first sound from the CD/DVD player. A CD is recognized by the KsCD player and will play, eject, etc. from the icon of KsCD (no sound). ADVD is not recognized by the system. Ogle will not control the DVD. MPlayer does not function at all. Xine will open, but does not function.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
