CD/DVD drive not working on Debian Sarge
I've got an ASUS CD S520/A Drive and I'm running a fresh install of Debian Sarge with Gnome2.
The first issue I have is that two cd drives show up in the "Computer" drive listing: CD-ROM and CD-ROM(2). I only have the one drive in there. When I noticed that, I threw a few different cds in there and tried to read them - both music and data discs, to no avail. Same error whenever I try to mount the volume (using either of the two CD-ROMs listed). I checked the system log and found a this: Code:
Jul 27 12:53:41 localhost kernel: hdc: command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } As you can probably tell, I'm a bit of a linux newbie - so any advice/pointers you can give would be very much appreciated. |
No advice?
