Cd burning slow / errors

Hola

I'm running Gentoo 1.4 final release now and I'm having the same problems now as I did with grnto 1.4 rc4. I have a Samsung CRW which can burn at 52x. Unfortunately, it burns at about 20 - 25x. Also, using xcdroast, I notice that the buffer seems to drop down to zero constantly whilst burning. I saved the output. The cd-rom drive is running at udma mode 2 and the HD is running at mode 5 (-X69). The HD and cd-rom drive are not sharing a channel. The CDs can support burning at faster speeds. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try running program as root? It's something about premission in setting program priority. I think.
This can cause problems too:

Warning: Using ATA Packet interface.
Warning: The related libscg interface code is in pre alpha.
Warning: There may be fatal problems.
