card 1 = nvidia( with nvidia module), card 2 = ati (pci)

is it possible for me to have my agp nvidia card run the driver from the nvidia web site, and have my ati card just using a normal driver.

I running Suse 10, and I have Slackware 10.2

I just want to know if I can use a the 'nvidia' driver with a 'ati' driver at the same time dual-head

Since the driver controls the hardware, it would seem that in one did 'modprobe <driver name>', modprobe would probe the hardware and load the driver (whereas insmod only loads the driver without regard for what, if any, hardware needs it). Since the two cards are different, and require different drivers, perhaps modprobe of each driver would work.

If anything fries, I didn't say this.

I've done it before and it worked, but I was only using the 'nv' module, I want to know if the 'nvidia' will work with the 'ati' driver. its a confusing question I think I'll just do it myself and report back my findings
