can't get usb ports on 1907fpc to work

I have a Dell 1907FPC Flat Panel with my desktop and I need to be able to use the usb ports so I don't have to turn my tower around to use usb ports. I can't find a linux driver for it. Does anyone know of a driver that is for it, or would work with the monitor?
The only drivers available was the windows version, and its not even the full version.

linux reads your bios so please go into bios and enable them. and if you were running windows change it to no os system or non windows system. Trust me if your bios are posting usb ports linux is reading and enabling them.
open a terminal and type as root or sudo lsusb . and you will see them if bios are posting them. then type dmesg and you will see how they are loaded.

AFAIK it is just a USB hub and no drivers are required. You still need to connect a USB cable from the monitor to the computer. Plug the upstream port into the computer and not the downstream ports.

michaelk: Thank you. I didn't realize that the USB A/B port needed to be connected to the computer. when I used to use Windows XP, it was able to connect with only the VGA cable connected to the cable. Thank you.

Not to hijack my own thread, but on my computer (Dell XPS 410), the front usb ports don't work. do you think it is just because of ware (I have had my hands around the fan next to them)?

What do you mean by where you had your hands? If you were inside the case then it is a possibility. Look for loose connectors.

I could only find the setup guide for the 1907FP and do not know what is different between it and the 1907FPC. The 1907FP requires the upstream USB and I am unfamiliar with USB over vga or DVI.
