Can't get native 1440x900 resolution on toshiba laptop
Laptop: Toshiba P25-S509
LCD: 1440x900 native
Video: nVidia FX 5200 Go
OS: Fedora Core 3 or Fedora Core 2 (doesn't work for either)
I am trying to get this machine to run at it's native 1440x900 resolution. I've searched the web and everything I've found doesn't work. I modified the xorg.conf file, but it seems that 1152x864 is the highest resolution I can get, so I figure it's the video card. I installed the NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run file and modified the xorg.conf file as the install says, but it still doesn't work. I'm wondering - is it even possible to get this machine to work in the screens native 1440x900 or am i stuck looking at a stretched resolution?
I'll also add that all this tinkering is done on a fresh install of Fedora, so nothing else has been modified. I've tried both Core2 and Core3.
Thanks.
