Unhappy Cant find my 3rd Harddisk in Debian on Dell Poweredge 1750

Hello all,

Just received our first linux server and have spent most of the day pootling around. Everything seems fine, ive set up apache and a few other things we needed, but i cant find my backup drive.

Configuration is:

3xSCSI drives with PERC Raid controller

drive 0 + 1 - RAID 1 (so im guessing this is my / directory)

drive 2 - RAID 0 (as my raid setup utility would only let me pick this)

Now i know that drives 0+1 are working in RAID fine as both hdd activity lights flash simultaneously. But cant get anywhere trying to find drive 2.

Ive looked in /dev and i have a long long (long...) list of devices, none of which open (just pops up the "please select something to open this with" box). Im guessing the drive would be /dev/hdb or /hdc

here is a rough list of a "dir" on my /dev directory.

hda
hda1
hda10
hda11
hda12
hda13
hda14
hda15
hda16
hda17
hda18
hda19
hda20
hda3
hda4
hda5
hdb1
hdb11
hdb12
etc etc etc

Is this normal? i had mandrake at home and cannot recall this ever happening

Please help!

Ben

scsi disk devices have a "sd#" notation. MOst likely your first array is sda, your second is sdb...try looking around there.

Just looked,

Got about 100 instances of SD somethings, sda1, sda10, sda11, sda12 etc etc, none of which open when double clicked in Gnome.

I want, to be able to doubleclick on an icon and see the 3rd drive. Is this possible?

Am i doing something wrong in PERC setup?
