that helped

Adding the information you provided helped a lot, but it still has some issues. Everything is faster than it was, but still not as it should be (still choppy at times). The video is pretty smooth until I move the mouse, then it starts getting choppy.

Are there other driver configuration items that I am missing? Thanks.

previous reply didn't take

For whatever reason, my previous reply didn't show up. Adding the lines you suggested to my xorg.conf did help the situation a lot, but I am still experiencing some slowdown with video when I move my mouse. The video becomes choppy when I move the mouse.

Are there other driver configuration items that I can address to make things better?
Thanks.

This might be an IRQ problem (mouse sharing with video card?).

noapic nolapic and irqpoll are kernel boot options worth investigating. Do a search on kernel boot options (thought I had a link, but I can't find it now. Sorry).
