Can't boot w/o unplugging usb items...
Hi all.
I'm dual-booting Mandrakelinux (Discovery 10.1) with Windows. Installation was successful, but when I tried to boot Linux, the verbose screened showed that I hung on "Checking for new hardware." Then, I found that if I unplugged two odd USB items (a Cubase SX3 USB "dongle" and a Midisport 2x2 midi-in device) it would boot fine. I don't need to use either of these things in Linux (only on Windows where the studio recording software is loaded), so instead of trying to get Linux to recognize them, is it possible to just make these ports inactive while running Linux? My current workaround is to reach behind the computer and unplug these things everytime I switch to Linux! Lazy? 'Spose. But there's got to be another way...
Thanks; hope to hear from someone. Paul Eddy
