Canon CanoScan LiDE 20
Hi,
I just bought a Canon CanoScan Lide 20 USB scanner, to use with the RHL 9.0 distribution on my computer. I started the scanner program (XSane) and it recognized the scanner correctly. I clicked on the start scan button, the scanner made all kinds of noises, and finally I got a thin grey line on a white background, when I was trying to scan a photograph ! Also, the scanner refused to turn off, and I was forced to shutdown the computer to turn the scanner off. Does RHL 9 support this particular scanner ? If not, where can I get the drivers for it ? If it does, how do I configure it so that my photos still look like photos ? I'm a newbie to linux, so please bear with me if I get swamped in any technical details. Thanks, Adarsh |
Re: Canon CanoScan LiDE 20
I just went by the RH site and checked their compatibility list. They don't officially support ANY scanners... You'll be relying on the community to get this working... Good luck... I'm about to dive in as well.

plustek
Hi
Have you already looked for the plustek backend , that one supported my canoscan N1240U . i found it at www.gjeager.de/scanner/plustek.html and I even got the lamp to go off by editing the plustek.conf file . There is an opion in that file where you can set Lamp Off Time so you wont have to reboot your machine |
More help please...
Hi, erm the site in the URL above is now gone...could anyone please gimme some help? I've got the same scanner...looked on the canon site and there's not linux driver there...found something on sourceforge but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
Thanks. |
