i'm running ubuntu on a T30 laptop and i'm having problems getting Linux to recognize my Canon A620 camera. i have a nikon coolpix 2200 that worked fine. all i had to do was plug in the usb cable and the camera was automatically mounted as another hard drive right on the desktop. no such luck with my A620, however. i've been searching the web for about a week looking for a resolution to this issue. i'm about to chalk it all up to the camera being so new that there simply is no support for it, yet, within linux. i found a site that says the camera should work utilizing PTP (USB) but when i try to get it to work, no luck. i would post a link to the site but when i try to do just that, i receive a message that states i must post 5 times before i can include a link (?). would anyone happen to know how i could mount this camera? how would i utilize PTP? i've tried about everthing. would i be better off purchasing a Scandisk USB card reader? will i have any issues with ubuntu recognizing that?
I checked the HCL but didn't find anything on this model of camera.
