Cannot get sound on headphones using FC8 on HP 530 Laptop

Hi folks ,

I am using Fedora Core 8 on HP 530 laptop.

Sound from my laptop speakers comes out fine , but when i plug jack inside audio out , the sound still keeps coming from the main speakers and not through the newly attached device ( in my case headphone )

please advise how to solve this issue

Check the settings in your mixer application.
