Cannot connect to the Internet
Does anyone have a solution to this problem please.
Hi all, I live in Australia and I am restricted to dial up internet. I have just installed Ubuntu on dual boot with XP. I am new to linux, and this site, and I cannot connect to the internet. I have an internal 56 k Modem. It is an ESS Es56h. Driver is Ver. 126.96.36.199. Ubuntu recognises the modem but I am not able to connect with it. My ISP,Optus Australia, does not support Linux. The modem works fine with XP and i am connected in this O/S.
Unfortunately, I am stumped in getting connected in Ubuntu.
Any help or suggestions would be greatfully appreciated. I like the looks of Ubuntu and I am anxious to move away from Uncle Bill's Software. Please help.
