Cannot configure internet connection


i have SuSE on my other computer and ive been trying to configure my network connection and i had a realtek device, ive always had a NE2000[ISA] when i have the mandrake distro, and it works really good, so now im wondering, because i put an ethernet card on, im just wondering because its suppossed to be configured, and when i try to open a webpage, it just doesnt work.

Is it really configured?

Have you checked?

What IP address is it getting or is it set to?

well i put it to automatically set it, when i get on it should get the one its assigned by my provider, its the one logged here

So your linux box connects directly to your internet service? Or is there a hub router or switch?

run /sbin/ifconfig to find your IP.

i want to connect it directly to the net, but i just dont know if its the network card, i will try taking one off and putting another one, and if it doesnt not work i'll input another post
