can you close a cd drive from the terminal?

i can eject my cd rom drive by typing eject hdd in the terminal, is there an opposite command to close it?

If you mount your CD-ROM with the drawer open the mount command will close it.

Some drives might except the -t option for the eject command to close tray. Read ' man eject '

After all these years, blow off the dust....

A useful variant is eject -T /dev/drive.

This toggles the tray status.
