can not get my Diva ISDN Adapter to work on RH9

Hello all:
Have Redhat 9 (kernel : 2.4.20-8) installed on a dual boot machine with Windows 2000 Professional (SP4).
I was led to believe that if I bought an Eicon Diva 2.02 S/T (PCI) ISDN Adapter....I could get it to work with Linux too. Alas I have not been successful.

Running

lspci -v

I get :

00:0e.0 Network controller: Eicon Technology Corporation DIVA 2.02
Subsystem: Eicon Technology Corporation DIVA 2.02
Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 11
Memory at 40100000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Memory at 40200000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2

and when I try to activate it from "Systen Tools --> Network Device Control" I get (in the /var/messages)

Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl addif isdn0
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl addphone isdn0 out 4004444
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl l2_prot isdn0 hdlc
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl l3_prot isdn0 trans
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl encap isdn0 syncppp
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl dialmode isdn0 manual
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl secure isdn0 off
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl huptimeout isdn0 600
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl callback isdn0 off
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome ifup-ippp: isdnctrl pppbind isdn0
Nov 15 22:43:28 rkhome /etc/hotplug/net.agent: assuming isdn0 is already up

and then every subsequent time I get :

Nov 15 22:43:48 rkhome kernel: isdn_ppp_bind: Can't find a (free) connection to the ipppd daemon.

In a window on the screen I get "Cannot activate network device isdn0".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
