Question can mount mount digital camera but gphoto can't detect it


hi, i have a sony dsc-v1 and i can mount it and access the pictures but i would like to use gtkam to download the pictures.

when i do lsusb my camera is detected but when i run gphoto2 --auto-detect no camera is detected, i run it as normal user and root, none work!

have any ideas?

You need to set the USB transfer mode on the Sony DSC-V1 to PTP. Turn the knob to SET UP. Then go through the tabs to the last page ("Setup 2") and change USB Connect from Normal to PTP. That did it for me!
