Can I use my five-button mouse in linux??

Hey, I've got a five-button mouse with a wheel and wheel button, but I can't seem to use either of the two side buttons. Is there anything I can configure so that I can use them?? Or at least for going back and forth between web pages in linux??

K, i got imwheel, but there is no config file, is there some shell script that I can run to give myself a default config file??
