I also tried the free edition...I was so happy when I saw the test page coming out. But when I tried a Writer document: disappointment: I can't use the printed pages since the turboprint logo it's also printed...
Form what they wrote on their site, I understood that the free edition is good for home-users, and that only when you want to print hi-resolution pictures or want to use spacial paper their logo will show up!
This is not nice: not to be able to use your own hardware because the manufacturer doesn't care about you!
And it doesn't seem fair to pay for a driver (something you would get for free on Mac or Win)! Canon ought to pay more attention to Linux users. They produced a Mac version for the IP1000 driver but not one for Linux, and from what I know there are more Linux users than Mac users.
Next time, when I choose a printer, I'll be more careful!
