Can't install Redhat 8 on Asus a7n266 based
Newly built system based on asus a7n266-vm gets to point in early install where anaconda starts, and seems to probe the monitor type (and can't) and then screen goes to black. Any thoughts?

I tried the same on my friends machine (having the same configuration) with the same results, it seems that Redhat 8.0 gets stuck after anaconda probes for the devices, his monitor was not detected and the installation hung,
later i installed Redhat 7.2 successfully only to find that it gets stuck when it comes to starting the APM daemon, what could be wrong? |
After some searching I found this thread...
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ghlight=nforce Check it out...it describes how to fix this. I haven't tried it because I'm so inexperienced with Linux. Recompiling a kernel sounds way out of my experience level. I'm kind of bummed since I just wanted to put together a simple, inexpensive linux box, but it seems it's going to be anything but simple. |
