Can't find driver for Broadcom BCM4313 ID 4313:4727
Hi,
I said good bye to Windows and moved to Linux. I am using OpenSUSE 11.3 on my netbook (Acer Aspire d260) and really happy with that. Im having problem with my wireless card that includes Bluetooth as well. I Googled and found that its partially supported by b43 (guess its a driver that comes with kernel). I installed Broadcom STA and it seems that my wireless is working but still not sure about that. I want to check if the wireless is really working and I want my Bluetooth to work as well but couldn't find a driver for that. I tried Code:
lspci |grep 802 02:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01) Code:
lspci -n 02:00.0 0280: 14e4:4727 (rev 01) Please tell me how to get my bluetooth and wireless working. :-( |
To check your wireless go to Computer then YaST - Network Devices - Network Settings and it should list your wireless. You may have to download fwcutter if you have not to get the driver to work which you can do through YaST - Software - Software Management.
Your Bluetooth try System - Monitor - System Monitor then select the service you want to setup. |
They just released this driver:

I have the same problem with my Dell Studio 1555. Regarding to wireless, in ubuntu they use a restricted driver and it works well. OTOH, bluetooth seems not to be recognized. I found something but not quite sure what's it for.

Thanks Larry

I found an open source driver by Broadcom that they released, named as "Broadcom-STA" - www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php. I download, compiled and followed the instructions on their site and it works. I went through the link that you provided and came out to be the same. That was really helpful. Regarding the bluetooth, I just forgot that I had a key combination (Fn key+F3) to turn on and off the bluetooth and wireless. I was so stupid that I didn't realize that and bluetooth is working as well. thanks |
