Camera Olympus fe280 - Cannot lock Device

I have a new camera an Olympus Fe280. When I try and access the camera from either digikam or gtkam(gphoto2) on my kubuntu box I receive the error message " Cannot Lock Device ".

So it seems that both programs can see the camera they however cannot "lock " it. You can also see the camera in storage media in konqueror but again it cannot be loaded.

If I take the USB card out and put it my Fuji s5600 then both programs immediately load and display images.

Is there something specific needed for olympus camera's ? Any idea's on how to enable "locking" ?

Oh and this is kubuntu Gutsy,

in your camera put the settings from connect to my computer as a hard drive or flash drive. right now you have it set as connect as a webcam. then you will see it in linux as a sda1 or sb1 etc linux. but if you have a newer system toy will be propted to open a kde or gnome window up when you plug it in .would be nice to know your distro. you have to do the same thing for windows also but you need there drivers where as in linux they are built in to the kernel.

Yes I Looked in the Phone setup and if I change it storage settings to "MTP" then then the camera mounts fine.

Thanks for your time
