callwaiting by conexant modems?

Hi

Recently, I've had a lot of quarrel over keeping the phone line busy when I'm online; we miss a lot of calls during my connection. So I thought maybe I could use the call waiting feature of my conexant modem. The specifications are as follows:

0000:00:08.0 Modem: ALi Corporation Intel 537 [M5457 AC-Link Modem]

I'm using the linuxant drivers for it(on both rpm-based/deb-based distributions). It's an hsf modem.
I noticed from the documentation that theres a callwaiting feature in hsf series which defaults to 24(That's exactly the number of rings my sister waits to hear when she wants to call us and this number disconnects me from the net!) in one of it's configuration files.
But I don't want ANY disconnections. In Iran wehn you are talking on the phone and somebody calls you you can hear two quick beeps on the phone then you have enough time to get off the phone and wait for the other caller.

I need the same thing through my speakers.

I'm sorry I'm not very good at hardware and this is urgent.
Could you please point me in the right direction?

P.S. Do you have any experiences in caller ID as well? I was thinking if I set that default number of rings to for instance 8 and at the same time I could see a caller ID popped up, that could solve my problem in some way too
