Cable type connecting 10/100 N/I/C's

Hey,

Can someone please tell me what cable type i will require to connect 2 pc's together using 10/100 ethernet N/I/C's?

Im awfully confused at the moment... not so good with hardware

Does it make a differance if the PC's are being used as workstations or servers?

Is a differant cable type required for

Server - Host connections

as opposed to

Server - Server connections?

For 100BaseT you should use CAT5 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) wiring. Your local computer store should have various length cables.

If you are connecting the computers without a hub/switch you need a crossover configured cable. If using a hub/switch then you need a regular straight through cable.

No difference in cable for servers or hosts.
