Alright Ive been at this for a while now and it doesnt seem that anyone else on the net has this issue.
Its possibly because I have a UEFI motherboard.
I ordered this Logitech c615 webcam. It was actually a gift from someone online and all the data supports this webcam is compatible with Ubuntu.
Plugging this cam in my computer is not properly working.
The mic is not picking up sound. The display is working for video and pictures. I am using guvcview as the program to take video/pics. VLC does not even show up a display the main issue is the mic does not record sound or work on Skype, Gmail, etc. On Skype I have no display
Anyone here at LQ can give advice? No one seems to have anything that can tip me off to a workaround and Ive been at it for months as well posting on several forums across the net.
I did try that. Thanks for your input. I have actually gotten the mic to work before with some tweaks. I reinstalled the OS recently and have tried everything I thought I searched before and nothing is changing it. I cant find whatever made it work before to make it work again. Im not really sure how I did it before. I tried a few things and then it was just working.
I think I remember it came from a VLC change that made it work. I found the same video and it didnt fix it this time.
Ive already tried a range of other things from Skype to possible drivers. Im surprised Im having this trouble because every review out there says it works out of the box
