Building Computer - Hardware and Compatibility Help
Alright, So I am building a new computer. Since I'll be using Linux... Most likely Slackware 10.0 or some version of Gentoo.
What I need is help on wether the items that I picked out will be compatible with linux. And if they will be giving me trouble in the future. Keep in mind that this computer is mainly for gaming. (Windows just doesn't cut it when it comes to gaming, even if I'm going to be using WINE to run them.)
Motherboard - EPoX EP-8RDA6+Pro Socket A (Socket 462) NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 ATX AMD
Processor - AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton 333MHz FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket A
RAM - Patriot Signature Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit
Graphics Card - XFX PVT40KND Geforce 6800 128MB 256-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X
--------------------------------------
Accessories -
Mouse - Logitech MX510 931162-0403 USB + PS/2 Optical Mouse
LCD Monitor - COOLER MASTER ALD-V03-UK Black Digital function panel
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rest of the items I will be jerking out of my old linux box.
Your views on the build and their compatibility with Linux would be great.
Thanks in advance.
