bttv card only one channel's NTSC image correct

I installed a bttv video capture card on my Linux system. First I couldn't see correct images with NTSC mode (PAL was OK). Then I set the pll option like this: options bttv pll=2. Yes, the channel 0 was OK, but only channel 0. Why? Who can give me any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

I'd like to help but would need more information.

- what sources are you trying to recieve a signal from?
(I'm a little confused as to why you are needing both PAL and NTSC as usually it is one or the other not both)

- If you are trying to recieve from multipe sources have you set up multiple .xawtv config files?
(i.e: one for NTSC and one for PAL)

- What Freq_tab are you using as NTSC signals will almost certianly need a diffrent Freq_tab then PAL?

I'm so glad that there is somebody who would help me.

- My sources are all NTSC, and there are 4 channels one card. The problem now is that I can only see correct images from the channel one, and the other three are all wrong.

- At first, the channel one was also wrong. As others told me, I set the pll option like this: options bttv pll=2. Then I got correct images from the channel one but not the other three.

- What are Freq_tab, and how do I use it?

Thanks a lot!

o.k the Freq_tab tell xawTV what frequency table to use (basically which built in list of channel=frequency settings to use) As I am in Canada and recieving from cable I set mine to us-cable.

you should be able to find out what it is set to by typing (at a command line)

cat ~/.xawtv | grep freqtab

or if that shows nothing

cat /etc/xawtvrc | grep freqtab

if neither file exists you should run a program that comes with xawtv called scantv which will help you set up the recieving standard and the freqtab. if you run it with the option -o ~/.xawtv that will create a config file for xawtv in your home directory.

Hope this helps.
If not let me know and I'll see what more I can do.
