Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

BT878 mixer support???

Got a bt878 based TV card, I cant seem to get the mixer to work though. I know it has one as the windows drivers are all good.
the btaudio module detects the mixer, but said mixer doesn't do anything. Here is the output from loading that driver:
--
btaudio: driver version 0.7 loaded [digital+analog]
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:02:01.1[A] -> GSI 5 (level, low) -> IRQ 5
btaudio: Bt878 (rev 17) at 02:01.1, irq: 5, latency: 32, mmio: 0xdc001000
btaudio: using card config "default"
btaudio: registered device dsp1 [digital]
btaudio: registered device dsp2 [analog]
btaudio: registered device mixer1
--

The ALSA module however (snd-bt87x) not only does not work but generates no output and does not even register a new mixer.

Any ideas how I go about getting a mixer control on this card?
I don't think it uses a seperate chip (AFAIK the bt878 can do audio, it's mono only and there is no other likely looking chip on the card.

Relevant parts of lspci output:

I would like to get this working with ALSA if possible, I would have expected some output from the driver even if it didn't detect the card???

Cheers.

Steve.

On my bttv878 card (Kworld xpert PVR), I have to plug the line out of the card into the line in of the sound card.
