I reinstalled those packages. there still is no usb interface under devices in the cups interface. Also, the printer still won't show up as a local printer under add a printer
That worked perfectly on a MEPIS system - I had previously had the DCP110C working under KUBUNTU Feisty but for some reason couldn't get it working under MEPIS. I did uninstall the DCP lpd and CUPS packages using KPACKAGE, before following all these steps very carefully. Greg
