Booting Mandrake with "logitech cordless desktop mx"

Ok when I get the bootloader (for choosing between windows en linux) my keyboard doesnt work because it's an cordless keyboard. I think the problem lies that my keyboard isnt loaded then and has something to do with HID. But can someone tell me how to use my keyboard under the bootloader???

Thnx in advance

Is your keyboard USB? If so, you may need to enable an option in your bios called "Legacy USB Support" (or something similar).

I've recently bought the logitech cordless "comfort" keyboard and mouse set.

The review of it in a recent linux format said that if you just plug the receiver into the usual kb and ps2 ports, it would work with linux OK.

I have the option to either use a usb plug, and leave the mouse ps2 unplugged, or I actually have the ps2 plugged in, and there is an adapter for the keyboard to convert usb to ps2 and then just plug the keyboard supply in as normal.

As far as I can see, it then avoids any potential usb problems - I have changed the settings to reflect any possible differences with logitech drivers, but I didn't need to as it all seemed to work ok when I first plugged it in (well under linux anyway, I had to make sure that the drivers and other mouse/keyboard software was installed to make it function properly under windows).

regards

John
