booting from usb hard disk

I installed fedora 8 in a 40 gb usb hard disk which works well with bios support for usb boot at college. but my home desktop doesnt have bios support. How can I get / create a boot cd so that I can boot from the usb hdd ?.I tried the boot from second hard disk using the ultimate bootcd .But threw up an MBR NOT FOUND error

... this is for ubuntu, but it quite comprehensive.

In effect, you create a basic linux setup which includes an entry for your usb drive in it's grub.conf ... when the CD boots, grub gives you a menu - choose the usb drive. No sweat.
