Something else to think about: RedHat seems to cause a lot of strange problems. That is my opinion after reading all over this forum for a year. I would say, if you want the easiest install, configuration, and hardware support out of the box, to go with Mandrake 9.1. It was my last distro, and I had virtually no problems with it on 3 different machines. A Dell, Hewlitt Packard, and my home built box now. All my hardware just worked. I had some internet troubles here and there with it, but nothing that a couple of posts here couldnt solve. RedHat has became too commercial IMHO, and is more of a server OS. I have several friends who have also used Mandrake on their store bought comps without issue with the exception of the usual Winmodem probs.
