bios read error on S3 Virge card in dual config

Maybe soemone cn answer this question here. I have asked it on the xorg mailing list with no responses.

I am trying to get a dual monitor configuration running under xorg. I have a system with on board S3 ProSavage AGP video and a system with a Nvidia GeForce2 AGP card, no on board. Whenever I try to do a dual monitor, Virge as Screen 1, i.e.second screen, it fails with this error in Xorg log file

(EE) S3VIRGE(1): Cannot read V_BIOS (3) Input/output error
(--) S3VIRGE(1): Chipset: "virge"
(==) S3VIRGE(1): XVideo not supported.

On the ProSavage board if switch them and designate the Virge as Screen 0 (Savage screen 1), I get the same error except for the ProSavage instead of Virge.

Anybody got an answer?
