Beryl on ATI Radeon 320M?

I got my hands on a ze4400 with the Radeon Mobility U1 (IGP 320M), and I'd like to know if it's possible to get beryl working on it...
Thank you in advance,

Zormac

I wouldn't recommend it. My ze4315 has the same chip, which shares system memory and uses the Xorg radeon driver. It barely handles opengl games such as Doom Legacy.

I ran compiz-fusion on my Compaq 2195US, which also uses an IGP 320M, and it was pretty snappy. Initial start times for Firefox was about 3 seconds, and OpenOffice would start in about 6. Cube rotation was pretty smooth, along with other animations. I run Xubuntu 7.10/XFCE. I normally leave compiz turned off; I like the processing power going to my apps rather than driving a pretty desktop. I have the Fusion-Icon installed, so I can switch back and forth with relative ease.

I haven't got that chip, but, I would recommend running Compiz-Fusion rather then the now defunct Beryl.

Check the first and last post in this thread:

Compiz-Fusion is the cutting edge variant after Beryl and Compiz merged back together last year. And far as I found on my newly rebuilt machine Compiz-Fusion must be quiet a bit faster. I don't think all of the speed difference can be explained by my change from Fedora 7 to Gentoo.
