Exclamation Belkin Flip USB KVM switch & MSI K9A2 mobo (ochi_hcd driver problem?)

I upgraded this last weekend to a phenom 9850 & an MSI K9A2 AM2+ motherboard and am having fun compiling stuff with -j5 and seeing it happen about 3 times faster than before! However, I cannot use any devices attached via this crappy KVM switch (I don't recommend Belkin's KVM switch BTW). I'm mostly posting because I suspect that there may be a problem (most likely due to something in the KVM) with the driver for my chipset (AMD 790fx north bridge and AMD(ATI) SB600 south bridge).

When booting from a Gentoo 2006.0 livecd, I could use the keyboard but it had a very fast key repeat which did not even appear consistent (I'm thinking that if a key was down for more than 50ms, literally, it would repeat). I had to tap *very* fast to avoid multiple letters appearing which is a real pain when you are trying to get your kernel recompiled (I had forgotten to recompile my kernel to include the sata drivers for my new mobo).

But with my 2.6.25-gentoo-r3 kernel, my keyboard and mouse are completely useless on the new machine. The keyboard's numlock will light up very briefly the first time I hit a key after booting, but that's about it. I can plug them directly into a USB port and they will work. When doing lsusb, I see all of the devices sometimes, right now, I do not see the keyboard its self, but I do see the USB hub (it's one of the old m$ natural keyboards). I am using HDMI for my monitor, so I have that connected directly to my video card (I have to switch both my monitor and my kvm usually to go back and forth between my windows work laptop and my real machine).

lsusb (mouse attached directly, non-functioning keyboard attached via Belkin switch)

Update

I updated my kernel to 2.6.25-gentoo-r4 and I have different behavior! I can actually use the devices attached to the KVM right after boot, but they will not be available again if I switch to my laptop and back. So I'm wondering if it's related to http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d-mouse-643119
Either way, a fix (or hack to work around the problem if it's Belkin's) would be great.
