It is not the brand and model of the notebook computer. It is the hardware that it contains. The Linux distribution has nothing to do with what it supports. It is the kernel version that the distribution uses and what hardware the distributor selected in the kernel relates to what the distribution will support.
I got the following specs at
http://www.digitalplanet.co.za/p-108...ft-screen.aspx
Code:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T2330 1.6GHz 533MHz W/1M
Display: 15.4” WXGA TFT Display
Hard Disk :160GB SATA HDD
System Memory: 1GB DDR2 667MHz
Optical Device: DVD/RW Super Multi Drive (Double Layer)
Graphics Adaptor: ATi Radeon HD2600 256MB
Wired Communication: Ethernet LAN 10/100, International V.92 Modem
Wireless Communication: Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/Draft-N, Bluetooth
Sound System: Built-in Stereo Speakers
Interfaces: DC-in, Ext Mon, RJ-11, RJ-45, TV-Out, IEEE1394, 6-IN-1 Media Slot, EXT MIC, Headphone, 4 X USB
Expansion: 1 x Express Card Slot
Physical Dimensions: 362mm x 268mm x 39.3mm
From the above it is hard to tell. The ATI card may not give you any issues, but I can not say the same for WiFi and NIC.
IMHO, Ubuntu is a lousy distribution. I suggest Gentoo.
