Unhappy bad:audo driver in trouble


hey folks,
im really perturbed now.
i removed red hat linux and put mandrake ver8.2 though im trying for latest version.
my audio driver is i810 and its not detecting it at all!

But 1 member of this forum helped me to go to alsa driver site.
I extracted it and tried runnig it......no use.
Since im a complete newbie to linux,maybe i cudnt do it.

Now im in trouble without it,can any 1 please help me out with this problem.
