audio has a delay of around 1-2 seconds in games

Ok ,so I have got UT2003 and a few other games to run natively under Linux, even using WineX to run some, but the sound is about 1-2 seconds behind the action.

i am using the alsa drivers for my via8235 chipset onboard ac97 sound (ga-7vaxp mobo)

How do I go about fixing this?

Thanks.

See http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc...module=via82xx to make sure all is well. I suggest you read everything 3 times prior to fixing/breaking anything (as I have done). Make a backup copy of /etc/modules.conf and try to keep track of what you are doing.
Read all the way down the reference link as there are some good suggestions. But about the delay.

that last link solved my problem thank you.
I had to :
Code:

echo "(define devices '(sdl))" > ~/.openalrc
to make the file .openalrc and now its all good!
Cheers.
