Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Audio device lock up (fc6 audigy se)

Hello,

I keep having this problem that I can't play audio from multiple programs at a time.
I've read about a program called dmix can do this, but I'm not sure if I have it installed or configured right. Also I have no idea on how to set my sound configuration settings.

Here are some of my settings:

http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/1...igur4rb.th.png
http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/4...igur2kc.th.png
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/4...erenmt2.th.png

When I do "locate dmix" I get this output:
/etc/alsa/pcm/dmix.conf
/etc/alsa/pcm/dmix.conf.rpmnew
/usr/share/alsa/pcm/dmix.conf

So, is it installed or not?

I also have an onboard soundcard. Fedora used this at first as the default soundcard (it took me along time to just get some sound out of my system). Could it have something to do with that?

Greetings,
NeoNecro
