Uhmmm... binutils is one of the building blocks of the system, its kinda impossible to run without them, I wonder if the geforce install script is just a little on crack. The audigy driver has come a while since the release of 7.3... there's a package called emutools, I think that's the name anyway, installed somewhere, by default digital out is what's turned on, so if you have analog speakers its like one command to switch it, search here and you'll run accross it.

Cheers,

i have an audigy , platinum. First of all DAMN! you're making a good purchase, it sounds better than ANY stereo i've ever heard, plus the software and the remote is kickarse. well, im running rh9, and i applaud rh devs, EVERYTHING was autodetected and proper drivers installed, without a hitch...im sure you can check www.creative.com for drivers however

Audigy 2 zs doesn't sound much better than on-board. What driver you use?
