I just did my 3rd install in a week after all kinds of sound issues and I still have a problem with Ubuntu feisty freezing when I play video. Everything else is fine. I am using the fglrx driver and am really at wits end. What logs do I need to look at to figure this out. Im so ready to say enough is enough with Ubuntu and stick with XP but I dont want to admit defeat quite yet.
What are my options for drivers aside from this, and how do I get and install them? I tried the driver from the ATI site and it did it as well. From what I read the open source Radeon drivers are not ready for my card yet. I appreciate any help offered here.
I may end up giving up on Ubuntu/Linux soon but I assure anyone who cares ATI has lost a long time customer after this BS and has gotten a few emails to let them know how pissed I am with them for making paying customers suffer this way. I guess there always the next system where Ill make sure theres no issues with hardware compatible in Linux.

Oops, I should read all of your posts - didn't notice you already found it. So, did it help?
