ATI Tv WonderPro cannot tune NTSC

i can get my tuner to work with the following problem, it tunes into NTSC in TV Time and Xawtv4. This is anoying as there is severe coruption on some channels, but on others there is perfect video. this is anoying. When i use YAST's TV Module i set all the options pertinant to the card (cx8800 card=4 tuner=44) and it still does this. I have tried passing these options when inserting the module, with the same results. When YAST or any tv application tries to scan NTSC it says "NTSC Not Found", where as if i say scan PAL-M it manages to find all the channels, slightly off

I am in canada, and this is supposedly a common problem. I have a 1236MK3 philips tuner and Connexant cx23880X base TV Wonder Pro.

I have an ATI Wonder Remote and i know they are different, but i use NTSC and it works fine. When i modprobe, i use

modprobe bttv tuner=2

That seems to work for me. My point is that NTSC works fine for cable tv in Toronto. I am also using TvTime for watching tv.

I also noticed that you had a Plextor 708a, have you got this to work in Linux yet? Like i mean, actually burn a dvd?

Ya, i think it's the BT878. Actually, i'm positive. Mine is the ATI Wonder VE Remote. Got it at Future Shop. I use the bttv driver, so i think it's the BT878 chipset.

This is it. Got it on Younge Street near St. Clair.
