Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

ATI Radeon TV Out - Clone

Hi,

I have configured my radeon 9200 with fglrxconfig for clone mode for TV out. My monitor has a higher resolution than the TV's max resolution so the TV seems to be configured with "virtual resolution" where the desktop extends beyond the physical limits of the screen. By moving the mouse to the edge of the screen the region which is displayed can be moved about.

The maximum resolution for the TV is set correctly when I specify the VertRefresh and HorizSync in fglrxconfig. This even happens when the option for virtual resolution is disabled in fglrxconfig.

Can this be solved?

Thanks

I saw a bug for video out with certain kernels of FC in the link in my signature.
