ATI Radeon and DVI output

Has anyone managed to get DVI output with the drivers provided by Ati or by his distro?
If yes .....please tell me how.I'm desperate.
I dont care about "vesa" or the Xfree driver , solutions.I want to be able to play games in linux and have high frame rates.
Thanks

Hi,

I just bought an Connect3D ATI Radeon 7000 card with DVI, and it works without problems through DVI to my LCD display - with the Open Source or Free Software drivers from the DRI project.
I admit the card is a little slower than my old Radeon 7200 card, but I don't use it for games and the new card was really sheep... :) And my LCD is a lot happier with the DVI than the Sub-D input. No more "Input not supported" warnings in some games ect. that goes fullscreen...

I don't use the proprietary drivers from ATI and I will never use them, period. If I once in the feature have to purchase a card not supported by the free drivers, will just have to disregard the 3D capabilities of that card, but for now - I'm happy happy.

Peace!
