Hello!

I have not tried this yet, but see what you think of this site. It is the Linux install guide on the ATI website. It is:

http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/linuxhowto-ati.html

This guide gives you good info. on installing these drivers. It also gives you a download called check.sh, which allows you to check for the proper ati driver package to download.
