ATI Radeon 7500 (PCI) - Black Screen after reboot?

I have a ATI Radeon 7500 (PCI) card that I can't seem to get working. I could really use some help with this. These are the steps I have taken:
1. system hangs with black screen after reboot
2. I installed "fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.2.8.i586.rpm" ; switched AGP to PCI in BIOS
3. Got to desktop... Changed "modes" ; "ForcePCIMode" "1" in XF86Config
4. Set DPI and Monitor V and H frequencies in Display
5. I was now able to switch to higher resolution
6. When I check "Enable Hardware 3D Acceleration in Display - Black screen after reboot!

Any Ideas?

Here is my XF86Config:

I have not check "Enable Hardware 3D Acceleration" in Display because the system hangs, also I had Option "nodri" in XF86Config but has since removed it...

ATI's fglrx driver doesn't support anything below the 8500!

When you installed this driver you overwrote your libGL.so.1.2.
See if the drivers has backed up your original file to /usr/X11R6/lib/ri-old.lbGL.so.1.2 [...or something similar, don't remember exactly] and revert manually.
If not, you'll need to re-install the R-H pkg that supplies this file, either libMesaGL [...or something, if it exists in R-H] or the whole X server if no separate MesaGL pkg.

Aside from this "minor inconvenient" and a missing Load "dri" in Section "Module" your config file seems in working order for the radeon module, your only option for 3d accel.

Also in case of problems with the X server, always refer to /var/log/XFree86.0.log, you'll find the most usefull troubleshooting info in it.
